Ett lajv om pirater på ett värdshus

“Amongst murderers and thieves” is a tavern-pirate larp that takes place during the 1600’s, when pirates ruled the seas!

We’re on the island Tortuga, which is a part of Haiti (then called Hispaniola) and one of the Caribbean islands. During the 1600’s, this island was one of the most popular places for pirates to be. In this larp, you’re invited to an evening in the tavern The Sunk’n Norwegian, where laughter and fist fights are everyday happenings, and the rum flows freely. Pirates, as well as other seafarers and travellers are gathered at the tavern to relax with some pints of mead or to seek company for the evening. Or why not get in a fight to keep the spirits up?

Most people know that there is a curse over The Sunk’n Norwegian, but few know what exactly this curse is. But one thing’s for sure, if you’re looking for colourful people with even more colourful stories, The Sunk’n Norwegian is where you set sail.

The sword is being dried off with the sleeve of a coat. The blood splatter will be difficult to get rid of, but they don’t care about that now. What’s most important right now is to get rid of the body of the former captain, before some real mishappenings take place. He was a heavy man, it’s gonna be tricky to drag him off. They release a heaving sigh, grab ahold of captain Williams’ arms and start pulling. Suddenly, the sound of glass being broken is heard somewhere. Our pirate instantly notices, drops captain Williams and pulls out their sword. Who could be here now? None of the crew knew that they were seeing the captain tonight, it can’t be one of them. They look around the room with watchful eyes, looking for the slightest sign of life. But signs of life could be exactly what they shouldn’t be looking for right now. A wave of cold suddenly goes through them, and they’re left gasping for air and chilled to the bone. In the corner of their eye, they can see a book falling from the bookshelf, all by itself. Ofcourse. The poor bastard came back sooner than they thought. With a small smile on their lips, they take a big sip from the glass of rum still on the table, then they get ready with their sword in their hand. A ghost is said to be unbeatable in a fight, but they are ready to take the chance now.

Evening falls over the islands of the Caribbean. The torches are burning, the seagulls screech their last songs for the day and the people of Tortuga wake up for real. A lone person walks the streets and listens to the songs and laughter that echo through the town. The taverns and pubs are many, but it’s a special tavern our pirate is heading to. A tavern where thieves and even worse folks settle down for the evening. Where the mead flows and the songs never end. Where a fight is to be expected at the bottom of every pint, where the company is the best you’ve ever had. If you need a crew, it’s here you go. Amongst murderers and thieves, you can’t find more loyal pirates. The person wanders on through the mud after today’s rain, and stops at the door of The Sunk’n Norwegian. They take a deep breath and smile to themselves, then they eagerly slam the door open. Inside the tavern, screams and screeches can be heard, but only happy ones tonight. The place is packed as usual. The stench can hardly be noticed anymore, but the chandelier is still crooked. Somewhere further inside, a band can be heard playing a merry song. At the bar stands Nancy, the owner of the tavern, cleaning a pint with a forever dirty cloth. Our pirate approaches the bar and greets Nancy. They are met with a wide grin that shines like the morning sun, but glimmers like false gold.

“Haven’t seen you in a long time!” Nancy yells, instantly pouring a pint of mead that she hands over to the pirate. “Tell me what you’ve been up to!”
